TRAIL:
The Wood Rock Ranch has 300 acres of private ranch land
with 9 miles of permanently marked equestrian trails.The
terrain is quite varied and includes river bottom, pasture,
rocky hills, and canyons. Trails are mostly wide and some
single file paths. Shoes are recommended for tender footed
horses.
CAMP:
Trailer Hook-ups: Camping fees per night are $15 for 30
amp electric/water hook-up or $10 for primitive camping.
There are no pens for horses. Riders may set up portable
pens, set up highlines, or tie to trailers.
Cabins
~ Competitors will also have the option of staying in an
open air cabin. These cabins have bunk beds and electricity,
but no heat and may be chilly amd community showerhouse
available at only $5 nightly. Also, pens for $5 nightly.
Meals
~ Friday night dinner Stone Soup FREE from 6 to 8 pm. Saturday
breakfast and lunch are $6 each or both for $10. Breakfast:
breakfast tacos, cereal, yogurt, fruit, granola bars, sweet
rolls, milk, coffee, and juice.
Lunch: turkey and dressing casserole, spinach salad, rolls,
pumpkin cake dessert, tea, lemonade, and water.
NOTE:
To ensure entry and designated camp site (electric) please
mail or email your entry form before Nov 18. (No deposit
required)
Noncompetitors can ride with friends, but there is a $10
charge to do so.
GENERAL
INFORMATION:
Proof of negative Coggins required (original only - no copies)
will be checked at the main building. Check in begins at
3 PM on Friday, and again at 7 AM on Saturday. All riders
able to check-in on Friday are encouraged to do so, this
will ensure the ride starts as scheduled.
Ride
meeting is 8 pm Friday night and an additional ride briefing
8 am Saturday morning for late arrivals. Ride out is 9 am
on Saturday morning
DIRECTIONS:
Arrive in Bluff Dale on Hwy 377. Turn south off Hwy 377
onto County Road 172 between 2481 and RR tracks in Bluff
Dale. Drive down CR 172 for about 2.6 miles. The entrance
to the ranch will be on the left side of the road and will
have a sign, "Wood Rock Ranch". The entrance is
at a spot where the road turns 90 degrees to the right,
so if you make a sharp right turn, you have gone too far.
